CAM’RON WALKS OFF ‘IT IS WHAT IT IS’ IN PROTEST OF DWYANE WADE’S NAIL POLISH PLANS

Written by on July 17, 2024

Cam’ron stormed off the set of It Is What It Is over Dwyane Wade‘s potential new business venture: a nail care line.

Co-host Treasure “Stat Baby” Wilson brought up the subject during an episode of Cam and Ma$e‘s popular sports talk show, prompting strong reactions from the Harlem rappers.

“Oh my goodness,” Murda said in shock, struggling to hide his disappointment, while Killa Cam went one step further by slamming his earphones on the desk in front of him before getting up out of his seat, gathering his belongings and leaving the show.

The Dipset legend complained about Stat Baby ending each show with “some wild shit” while Ma$e watched on in amusement.

D-Wade shared his nail care business plans in a recent interview with CBS Mornings and credited his daughter Zaya Wade with inspiring the idea.

“I’m actually thinking about jumping into the nail line world. I’ve got some cool ideas that I’m exploring,” he said. “One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and painting hers.

“That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love.”

The NBA legend’s passion for manicures previously came up on It Is What It Is last year when he wore colorful nail polish at his Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony.

Unimpressed by his androgynous sensibilities, Ma$e slammed Wade by saying: “This is like seeing Jordan in lingerie. It’s just crushing me — pause. It’s something you don’t want to see. It ruin everything for you.

“It’s like when you have somebody you looked up to, you appreciated their work as an athlete and then they go do this. It’s like, ‘We can’t do nothing with that, man!’”

The former Bad Boy rapper then branded Wade as the front-runner for the “Come On, My N-gga” Award, while Cam’ron, fighting through laughter, predicted his co-host would go “viral” for his comments.

After composing himself, Killa Cam shared his own thoughts on D-Wade’s painted fingernails and overall fashion sense: “For the last however many years — and I don’t want to say since he’s been with Gabrielle Union, but he’s become very eclectic over the years. His blouses, his shirts, his capri pants.”

Ma$e interjected: “You call it eclectic?! He’s become very sassy over the years.”

The Harlem World hitmaker then criticized Dwyane Wade for not setting a good example for his sons: “Your image does matter. This what I’d say to D-Wade: If you’re gonna do your nails, do your hair, do your lashes. I would respect it more than just tip-toeing out.

“As a man who’s got sons and sons that are growing up, that matters. Whatever they decide, they decide. It’s important that people put the right imagery out there and I think it’s the wrong imagery.”
