POOH SHIESTY SENTENCED TO 5 YEARS IN PRISON

Written by on April 20, 2022

A Florida judge has sentenced Pooh Shiesty to 63 months in prison.

The “Back In Blood” rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, had been behind bars since June and previously faced eight years for his role in an October 2020 robbery. Shiesty had previously pleaded guilty to a single firearms conspiracy charge in January and was able to avoid life in prison after prosecutors threw out three charges from his indictment.

The federal charge stemmed from an October 2020 shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida where Shiesty allegedly shot an individual in the buttocks after he and two others robbed a victim following a meet-up for marijuana and sneakers.

In a recent filing in March, Pooh Shiesty’s defense lawyer Brad Cohen claimed the rapper would never have committed a robbery considering his success as an artist.

“The government wants this court to believe Mr. Williams, with a net worth of $3,449,446, planned a robbery, then committed a robbery, and then shot a known drug dealer who knew him well and could easily identify him,” read the filing which had been obtained by Rolling Stone. “All over a few hundred-dollar drug deal for personal use, while he was driving a lime green McLaren that he rented from the alleged victim.”

“Mr. Williams possessed over $40,000 in cash and was driving a vehicle valued at over $200,000,” the filing argued. “It would be illogical for Mr. Williams to stage a robbery by two other individuals over something so miniscule as a bottle of liquid codeine with a retail value of a few hundred dollars, at most, when any damage done to the McLaren in the process would have cost thousands of dollars to repair.”

Pooh Shiesty had closed out 2021 by dropping his “Federal Contraband” freestyle where he rapped about his case and promised for a comeback.
